Actovegin

Actovegin is a brand name medication made by Swiss pharmaceutical company Nycomed. The active ingredient of Actovegin is a free protein extract from calf blood that contains low-molecular peptides and amino acids. The medication exerts expressed antihypoxic action, increases glucose utilization and its transport to the body cells, increases the resistance to hypoxia, stimulates metabolism, accelerates reparative processes.

Local forms of Actovegin are used in: wounds and inflammation of skin and mucous linings, burns, ulcers, treatment and prophylaxis of bedsores, radiation skin damage.

Oral forms or injectable forms of Activegin are used in disorders of peripheral circulation and their complications such as arterial angiopathy, wounds, nerve tissue damage.

Actovegin is contraindicated in patients with known allergic reactions to Actovegin components, heart failure, anuria, oliguria, water retention (for oral and injectable forms). It is also not recommended to use the medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dermovate

Dermovate is highly effective remedy intended for local application. Dermovate comes in the form of ointment or cream containing a potent corticosteroid Clobetasol propionate. After application, dermovate exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic action, eliminates edema, hyperemia and itching.

Dermovate is approved for the treatment of psoriasis, chronic eczema, lichen ruber planus, discoid lupus erythematosus and other skin diseases which can not be treated by other less potent corticosteroids.

Dermovate is contraindicated for use in patients suffering from Hyde's disease, acne vulgaris, acne rosacea, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital itching, primary viral and fungal infections. The medication is also not used in pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, children.

The most common Dermovate side effects include: redness, itching, enlargement of superficial blood vessels, pigmentation disorders, hypertrichosis, weakening of skin barrier function. In prolonged use the medication may cause systemic allergic reactions.

Essentiale-forte-N

Essentiale forte N is a brand name medication made by Sanofi Aventis. The medication contains a complex of essential phospholipids (EPL -substance) which represent a highly purified fraction of phosphatidylcholine. Essential phospholipids work by regulating permeability of cellular wall, improve membranous function and the process of intracellular perspiration and biological oxidation.

Essentile Fortne N eliminates fatty infiltration of hepatocytes, stabilizes physicochemical bile properties, activates RNA synthesis and normalizes protein metabolism.

Essentiale forte N is used to treat fatty liver, acute and chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver cirrhosis, hepatic coma and precoma, toxic liver damage, including toxaemia during pregnancy, operations in the area of hepatobiliary zone, psoriasis and neurodermatitis, radiation syndrome.

Essentiale is effective and safe medication. Essentiale side effects occur in very rare cases, usually in patients with hypersensitivity and include: nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, allergic reactions.
